Taxon description

Hints, L., 2024

Relatively large for Dalmanellidae, subcircular shell, ventri­biconvex to nearly planoconvex. Hinge line attains on average about 0.7 of valve width. Ornament fascicostellate to ramicostellate, 12–16 ribs appear around umbo, 3–8 posterior ribs recurve posteriorly. Dorsal valve with interspaces in rib arrangement. Notothyrial platform triangular, brachiophore plates anteriorly U­-shaped. Bilobed cardinal process small, finely crenulated. Shaft short on elevated noto ­thyrial platform.
